The Deal Sheet

How this is scored

Every two hours a script reads the Slickdeals front page and the TKTS board. For each retail deal it takes the editors' "next best available price" as the reference, never the list price, and cuts the discount by a fifth because that reference is weaker than real price history. 20% or more is act now, 10–20% is decent. A deal is significant, and kept in the history, when it is decent or better and saves at least $25. Deals with no price research are listed but not scored. Full rules: the heuristic.

Not covered: Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, Theatr and CrowdVolt. They can't be read by a script, by their terms or by design. Use alerts and standing bids there; the brief explains how. The one gate a script can't apply is whether you wanted the thing before you saw the price. That part is on you.
